UNDERSTANDING NEURODEGENERATION IN AGE-RELATED DISEASES OF THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

We explore the cellular and molecular drivers of neurodegeneration in the eye and central nervous system. Our research focuses on how aging alters neuronal resilience and neurovascular interactions. Through these insights, we aim to advance therapies that preserve vision and promote brain-wide neuronal survival.

Where We Are

Situated in the heart of Nashville, our lab is a part of the rich and diverse research community of Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Our Core Beliefs

Our lab is committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, and supportive environment where all members feel valued and empowered to contribute. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, recognizing that diversity drives creativity and innovation in science.

Solving Neurodegeneration: Researching common mechanisms and strategies for new treatments.

Directed by Dr Lauren Wareham, our team comprises a range of talent from postdoctoral fellows, research assistants and students with a combined expertise of over 20 years in neurodegenerative disease research.

Our partnerships with other labs and scientists who help advance our research.
